Telegram welcome message with name, media and buttons

Greet new members of your Telegram group with their name, a photo or video, link buttons and automatic clean-up of the previous welcome. Free with Pibbo.

A good welcome message tells newcomers what the group is about and where the rules are — and makes them feel seen.

Create one

  1. Add @Pibbobot to your group as an admin.
  2. In the bot chat: ⚙️ Manage my groups → your group → 👋 Welcome message → switch it on.
  3. Tap ✏️ Set content and send your text, or a photo, video or GIF with a caption.

Personalise it

  • {mention} — the new member's tappable name
  • {name}, {username}, {id} — their name, username and ID
  • {group} — the group's title
  • Example: Welcome {mention} to {group}! Read the rules below 👇

Buttons and clean-up

  • Add link buttons, one per line: Rules - https://t.me/yourgroup/2. Put several on one line with |.
  • “Delete previous welcome” keeps only the latest one, so the chat doesn't fill up.
  • Check it with 👁 Preview before saving.
  • With the join captcha on, the welcome is sent once the member passes it.
  • 🧹 Service messages: auto-delete join, leave, pin and title or photo change notices.

FAQ

Can the welcome include a photo or video?
Yes — send a photo, video or GIF with a caption, and the caption becomes the welcome text.
How do I mention the new member?
Put {mention} in the text. Pibbo replaces it with the member's tappable name.
