How to stop spam in a Telegram group

Telegram groups attract spam the moment they grow. Pibbo stacks several layers, so spam is stopped before anyone sees it.

The layers

  1. CAS blacklist — known spam accounts (the Combot Anti-Spam database) are removed as soon as they join. On by default.
  2. Join captcha — bots that can't pass a button or math challenge never get to write.
  3. New-member limits — no links, media or forwards during a member's first minutes (10 by default).
  4. Flood detection — too many messages in a short time (by default 5 in 5 seconds) gets the sender muted.
  5. Banned words — delete, warn, mute or ban on words you choose, spaced-out spellings included.
  6. Quick-leaver guard (Pro) — accounts that join and leave within seconds are recorded or banned.

What is CAS?
CAS (Combot Anti-Spam) is a public list of accounts banned for spam across many Telegram groups. Pibbo checks every new member against it.
Are admins filtered too?
No. Admins are never restricted or filtered by Pibbo.
